NO PROBLEM DISCO
Sexy Funky Deep House Music!
GUEST DJ
Coran Maloney AKA DJ Co2an (Australia)
Co2an is an individual that has graced the dance music culture with club gigs in Melbourne Australia since 2004. Being part of the Bangkok underground scene and resident Dj of the Full Moon party for the past 2 years, Coran Maloney has experienced many things.
From his time spent in Asia he has fast lived the life of a Dj on the road. Over the past 12 months touring as far as the island of Boracay, Philippines. This amongst his weekly Bangkok residencies, 7-hour+ beach sets in Koh Phanang and hosting of his very own ‘Made in Melbourne’ parties have helped him to gain a reputation in the region for being a guaranteed party starter.
Still a regular partygoer Coran is always on the lookout to take his audience on a journey into sound: “My passion is to get people moving, to bring them together and to take them to the amazing places I have experienced and continue experience”
His love for music began at an early age and he was always open to all genres. Even now it is not un-common to find him in a variety of locations, taking bookings from up-market cocktail bars spinning funky nu-jazz to playing tech-house and main room beats to thousands at a festival near you.
In March 2011 he was approached to compile the mix CD for Hyde & Seek, a high profile hotspot in Bangkok, it will be released by the end of April. Currently co2an is touring in Malaysia with a headline spot at the Flip Flops beach festival in Kuching.
In the studio he has been working with Melbourne heavy weight Simon Agliati with releases planned for the middle of 2011. Proving that his talent to work a crowd can be just as effective in production.
At only 25, Coran continues to gain support from his growing fan base and promises a set full of energy and hands-high bass drops!
WEEKLY RESIDENT
Jack Malipan (Portugal/UK)
Jack’s passion for the music stems from the early 90’s while living in Bristol, attending the legendary parties of the time including the first DIY Crew raves that introduced him to underground House.
Following a life-changing trip to Chicago in 94 he focuses on the more soulful US House and Garage, and starts playing at private parties then small clubs between London and Cornwall.
After a move to Portugal in 98 he starts the Stressless Project duo with Tiago Dias and enters the local circuit, creating a faithful following for their upbeat party sound filled with Disco, Soul and Latin flavours.
They enjoy some prolific years as residents and guests at the leading Portuguese clubs and top festivals (like Industria, Fragil, Pacha, Vaticano, 31, Locomia and Gare among others), also fashion shows and corporate events for clients like Mitsubishi, Lanidor and Absolut Vodka.
In 2008 Stressless Project ends after a hot decade on the scene, and Jack starts his solo project No Problem Disco but his trademark sound remains: a feelgood mix of funky House and US Garage peppered with Latin fiesta and some Disco glitter.
Depending on crowd and venue his sets can also range from deep and jazzy to Tech and Tribal. In a all night set you may expect a journey progressing through many shades of House, from its origins to the latest fusions, building from soulful grooves to tougher electronic beats.
Internationally he’s played at celebrated clubs and venues like Bar Rumba (London), Skansen (Oslo), Par (St.Petersburg), Fredsgatan 12 (Stockholm), Ahjo (Helsinki), Venetian Casino (Macau) and Vegas (Sao Paulo) among others, together with regular visits to London as member of the Mi Casa Soundsystem.
Other DJ tours have taken him around China, Brazil, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Ukraine, Sweden, Thailand, Romania, Russia, Poland and Slovenia, from intimate clubs for 200 groovers in London to a Latvian dockyard for 12.000 ravers.
Over the years he’s had the honour of playing alongside some heroes like King Britt, Jazzanova, Sandy Rivera, Miguel Migs, X-Express 2, Phil Asher, Yellow, Nathan Haines, Faze Action, Harvey, Cosmo, Rainer Truby, Richard Dorfmeister and Nicola Conte among others.
His main DJ and production influences include Masters at Work, Kerri Chandler, Timmy Regisford, Restless Soul, Danny Krivit and Tony Humphries.
His first two releases, as No Problem Disco, are due spring 2012, with remixes by Faze Action and Yam Who.
In January 2011 he relocates to Asia, now based in Bangkok.
