Goldie is a man of many talents DJ/Producer/Actor/Grafitti Artist/Breakdancer/Reality TV Star and that’s just scratching the surface of this complicated man known only by one name. The other name would be legend. First making a name for himself in Grafitti and Breakdancing in Birmingham and Wolverhampton then, being discovered by Afrika Bambaata and being featured in his graffiti Movie Bombing. He left London for New York City in the early 80’s he took his love of music, dance, and graffiti to the streets of NYC. That was only the beginning of his journey into his art.
He then took on Miami before heading back to London in the beginning on the 90’s only to discover the music scene had evolved and something very special was about to kick off.
He began making his way into the world of music production and kicked off what was to be the foundation of Drum and Bass. In 1993 he released his debut album Timeless. Timeless was the ultimate statement of drum ‘n’ bass’s technical sophistication and manipulation. Back then it was the first of the drum ‘n’ bass crew to sign to a major label; London records. For more than a decade since Metalheads has been one of the most respected dance music labels in the world.
In 1999 Goldie appeared as a bad guy in James Bond film ‘The World is Not Enough’ and also in Guy Ritchie’s ‘Snatch’. In 2001 I had a part in the UK Soap Eastenders as a Gangster called Angel. But now his focus is getting back on the music while keeping the acting thing going strong.
According to Goldie Metalheadz has been away for a while, but it isn’t dead. 2012 will see the release of a new album, more TV and Movies, and world tours and it all starts right here at Q Bar Bangkok! Don’t miss a very special night with this legendary artist!
